Contrast agent developer E-Z-EM reported fiscal fourth-quarter 2000 revenues of $31.2 million, up 9.9% compared with revenues of $28.4 million in the same period in 1999. For the quarter (end-June 3), the Westbury, NY-based vendor had net income of $1.8 million, compared with net earnings of $840,000 in the same quarter in 1999.
Results were also healthy for the year. For fiscal 2000, E-Z-EM reported record revenues of $112.1 million, up 4.6% compared with the $107.2 million posted in fiscal 1999. The vendor had net income of $6 million, compared with net income of $4.8 million last year.
In quarterly developments, E-Z-EM announced that on August 1, its AngioDynamics subsidiary sold its cardiovascular manufacturing facility and operations in Ireland to that firm’s management. Since AngioDynamics has decided to exit the cardiovascular market to focus on interventional radiology, the Irish facility no longer fit the company’s plans, according to E-Z-EM.
