Marconi ships dual-slice Mx8000

Marconi Medical Systems has debuted a dual-slice version of its Mx8000 dual-slice CT scanner. With the new version, customers have access to less expensive dual-slice technology on a system with the same platform and with the same user interface as the four-slice Mx8000 scanner, according to the Cleveland-based vendor.

The dual-slice version will also have access to the same advanced applications available on the quad-slice Mx8000, including cardiac imaging, isotropic imaging, functional CT, and CT angiography. With its dual-slice acquisition and 0.5-second scan times, the new Mx8000 is up to four times faster than conventional single-slice systems, according to Marconi.
