Ultrafast CT developer Imatron of South San Francisco, CA, reported strong growth in both revenues and net income for its third quarter (end-September 30). The company said that increased acceptance of its electron-beam tomography technology as a tool for early-stage diagnosis has helped spark the improving numbers.
For the period, Imatron posted revenues of $17.8 million, an increase of 60% compared with sales of $11.1 million in the third quarter of 1999. The company enjoyed net income of $1.6 million, compared with a net loss of $1.7 million in the same period the year before.
