Electron beam tomography developer Imatron of South San Francisco, CA, has signed a three-year distribution deal covering imports and sales of the company's ultrafast CT scanners in Japan.
Imatron has named Meditec as its exclusive importer and customer service provider in Japan, while Marubeni has been named Imatron's exclusive distributor. Imatron will receive $4.5 million as part of the deal.
In connection with the agreement, Imatron has set up its own direct sales office in Japan, the company said.
