Viatronix to apply virtual colonoscopy technology to other organs

Flush with success from the first sale of its Viatronix Visualization System (VVS) last month, hardware and software developer Viatronix is seeking new applications for its technologies. The Stony Brook, NY-based company currently offers a PC-based 3-D virtual colonoscopy package.

Viatronix is planning to apply the underlying VVS technologies to heart, artery, blood and brain imaging, according to the firm. Viatronix was created as a spin-off firm from research conducted at the State University of New York, Stony Brook.
