3-D developer TeraRecon plans to introduce its latest cone-beam reconstruction (CBR) server at this month's RSNA meeting. Designed to provide volumetric CT capabilities for multidetector CT scanners, CBR employs an array of up to 32 of the San Mateo, CA-based firm's Xtrillion array processors working in parallel on a standard PC host.
The server reconstructs images that keep pace with data generated from multidetector CT scanners, according to the vendor. It can also handle 500 to 1,000 projections in a reconstruction algorithm, and deliver nearly artifact-free isotropic volume reconstructions, TeraRecon said.
