E-Z-EM debuts colon insufflation unit

E-Z-EM has introduced ProtoCO2l, a colon insufflation system for virtual colonoscopy procedures. ProtoCO2l consists of an automated insufflation device and disposable administration sets, according to the Westbury, NY-based vendor. ProtoCO2l uses carbon dioxide to distend the colon, an approach that offers diagnostic and patient comfort advantages over room air, according to E-Z-EM.
