Virtual colonoscopy developer E-Z-EM reported fiscal third-quarter net sales of $30.6 million, up 10.5% compared with the $27.8 million posted in the 2001 fiscal third quarter. For the period (end-March 2), the Westbury, NY-based firm had net earnings of $1.2 million, compared with net earnings of $106,000 last year.
Sales growth from the firm's contract manufacturing segment and CT contrast products contributed to gains in E-Z-EM's diagnostic segment, said president and CEO Anthony Lombardo. The vendor's AngioDynamics interventional subsidiary reported a 44% sales increase during the quarter.
