Santa Barbara, CA-based Tenet Healthcare and 3-D-software developer Viatronix have signed a preferred-vendor agreement. The deal enables Tenet hospitals to offer the Viatronix V3D Virtual Colonoscopy System for colorectal cancer screening.
The product utilizes both 3-D and 2-D imaging to allow physicians to evaluate the interior of the colon for the presence of polyps. Virtual colonoscopy requires no patient sedation and can be completed in approximately 15 minutes, Stony Brook, NY-based Viatronix said.
