Philips taps new vice presidents

Philips Medical Systems North America has named new vice presidents in the sales and service area of its CT and MRI business units. Robert Kaftan was named vice president of MR, with responsibility for coordinating the activities of the business across its three main locations: Best, the Netherlands; Helsinki, Finland; and Cleveland.

Kaftan returns to Philips after spending six years with GE Medical Systems of Waukesha, WI. He worked for Philips from 1992 through 1996 as region MR business manager, and also worked at U.S. Surgical of Norwalk, CT. Kaftan will be based at Philips’ North American headquarters in Bothell, WA.

The company’s new vice president of CT, William Cassidy, worked at GE for four years, most recently in the nuclear medicine division. He will oversee the CT marketing team in Bothell while coordinating efforts with the company’s Cleveland-based CT business-line organization.
