GE Medical Systems of Waukesha, WI, has acquired London, Ontario-based Enhanced Vision Systems (EVS), a developer of micro-CT technology for high-resolution 3-D micro-imaging.
EVS produces micro-imaging systems for in vivo and in vitro studies in osteoporosis, arthritis, cancer, and stroke. The company considers its products to be noninvasive means of evaluating new drugs and therapy. GE said the addition of EVS gives GE access to preclinical molecular imaging technologies.
