Digital x-ray developer AFP Imaging has begun shipping and installation of its new model VG (vertical generation) conebeam CT (CBCT) to dentists in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
The Elmsford, NY-based company recently received regulatory clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Health Canada, and European agencies for the device.
Model VG allows a patient to stand, sit, or stay in a wheelchair while scanned in an upright, vertical position. It also utilizes a conical beam of x-rays for 3D digital radiographic images of a patient's teeth and jaw structures.
