Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, and Electron of St. Petersburg, Russia, will collaborate on the development and production of products specifically designed for the Russian healthcare market.
The partnership initially will focus on the development of CT products, with plans to launch the first jointly developed scanner later this year.
The collaboration likely will expand in the future with other healthcare products, such as MRI, x-ray, and ultrasound systems.
Development and manufacturing facilities have been established at Electron's R&D and production site in St. Petersburg.
