The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) has published a fact sheet for primary care doctors on its final recommendation for CT lung cancer screening in high-risk individuals.
The document is intended to help healthcare professionals discuss lung cancer screening with their patients and determine if screening is appropriate. The task force currently recommends that annual screening be limited to people between 55 and 80 years of age who have a 30-pack-year smoking history and are current smokers, or those who quit less than 15 years ago.
The fact sheet is available on the USPSTF website.
