The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved the American College of Radiology (ACR) Lung Cancer Screening Registry.
Using the registry, providers can now meet Medicare quality reporting requirements to receive payment for CT lung cancer screening, ACR said. The college encourages providers considering or already offering the screening to use the following ACR tools:
- ACR Lung Cancer Screening Center program
- Lung-RADS classification system
- ACR/Society of Thoracic Radiology CT lung cancer screening practice parameters
The lung cancer screening registry is part of the ACR National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR) that CMS has recognized for the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS).
