The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared the MaxScan maxillofacial imaging option for the Verity conebeam CT (CBCT) scanner from mammography and orthopedic imaging firm Planmed.
MaxScan provides imaging of the jaw, teeth, sinuses, temporomandibular joints, orbits, and airways at low radiation doses, the company said.
Verity CBCT features an adjustable gantry and dedicated positioning tray that enables flexible positioning when imaging extremities or the maxillofacial area, according to Planmed.
