Samsung NeuroLogica will supply its BodyTom portable CT scanner to the University of Wisconsin (UW) Carbone Cancer Center in Madison.
The facility plans to incorporate the device into its radiation oncology brachytherapy planning process. UW Carbone Cancer Center is the first center in the world to use the BodyTom scanner for brachytherapy treatment, according to Samsung NeuroLogica.
The portable CT scanner will be located in the brachytherapy suite, allowing patients to receive imaging, planning, and treatment in one location, the company said.
