Breast CT developer Koning has begun to market its 3D breast CT scanner, for which it received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in February.
The company's Koning breast CT system allows the patient to lie in a prone position, and is designed to image the entire breast with a single scan without compression of the breast tissue. The device acquires 360° multislice images of breast tissue that may be reviewed in multiple planes at dose levels similar to those of diagnostic mammography, according to the firm.
