The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) has named the finalists for the 10th annual Toshiba Young Investigator Awards.
Supported by Toshiba America Medical Systems, the awards program supports the professional and clinical development of top radiology residents and cardiology fellows who have completed training within the past five years, SCCT said.
Applicants submitted abstracts and minimanuscripts for research related to the technical and clinical advancement of cardiovascular CT, the society said. Each award includes a $1,000 travel stipend and free registration for SCCT's annual meeting being held in Orlando, FL, from June 23-26, where each finalist will give an oral presentation.
An independent panel will judge the manuscripts and presentations and announce two winners, who will be recognized at the meeting. The winners' manuscripts will be eligible for priority peer-reviewed publication in the Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, SCCT said. This year's finalists are as follows:
- Dr. Rolf Symons: CCTA Reproducibility of Coronary Plaque Volume: Sample Size Implications for Clinical Trials
- Dr. Fabian Plank: Are There Gender Differences in Quantitative Coronary Stenosis Parameters for the Prediction of Hemodynamically Significant Lesions and in Plaque Characteristics by Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography?
- Dr. Christian Tesche: CT-derived FFR: Computational Fluid Dynamics Versus Machine Learning
- Dr. Christian Tesche: Coronary CT Angiography Derived Quantitative Markers for the Prediction of In-stent Restenosis as Defined by Quantitative Coronary Angiography
