Colon capsule developer Check-Cap has commenced a U.S. pilot study of its C-Scan system for colorectal cancer screening.
The company said that the first patients in the study have ingested the C-Scan capsule at the New York University School of Medicine. The single-arm pilot study -- which will enroll up to 45 subjects considered to be of average risk for polyps and colon cancer -- will evaluate the safety, usability, and subject compliance of the C-Scan system, according to Check-Cap.
