Advanced Imaging of Montana in Missoula has become the first U.S. healthcare facility to install Siemens Healthineers' Somatom Pro.Pulse dual-source CT scanner, according to the firm.
The scanner combines dual-source CT technology with embedded AI and user assistance features to deliver workflow efficiencies. Somatom Pro.Pulse’s AI-powered intelligent user interface, myExam Companion, combines patient data and collects scan-relevant information such as heart rate or breath-hold capabilities to develop a patient-specific scan protocol. The optional Fully Assisting Scanner Technologies (FAST) 3D camera automatically performs patient positioning.
Somatom Pro.Pulse also has an air-cooled gantry, requires 31% less space for installation than the company’s previous dual-source systems, and consumes 20% less power than traditional water-cooled dual-source CT scanners, Siemens said.
