GE HealthCare inks RT, AI partnerships

GE HealthCare (GEHC) announced two key collaborations in its existing and new imaging technology at RSNA 2025.

First, the company has deepened its Mayo Clinic relations through GEMINI-RT, a strategic initiative to personalize radiation therapy. The GE HealthCare-Mayo Clinic Initiative in Radiation Therapy focuses on automation, predictive oncology, multimodal therapies, and outpatient monitoring, the company explained.

GEMINI-RT extends an original agreement between Mayo and GEHC signed in 2023. Personalized radiation therapy research and activities will be based at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Rochester, MN, GEHC noted.

Another collaboration spotlights Nvidia's integration into GEHC's Vivid Pioneer cardiovascular ultrasound system and its Pristina Recon DL for 3D mammography reconstruction.

Vivid Pioneer ultrasound offers 2D, 4D, and color flow imaging, using two Nvidia GPUs designed for advanced image reconstruction, processing, AI, and visualization, according to GEHC. Pristina Recon DL is designed for digital breast tomosynthesis image quality at a low radiation dose to patients, the company noted.

In its announcement, GEHC also noted its news from March concerning Nvidia and the companies' intent to explore autonomous x-ray and autonomous ultrasound solutions. The autonomous imaging initiative will leverage NVIDIA Isaac for Healthcare and Nvidia Holoscan, an AI computing platform designed for autonomous ultrasound systems. The companies plan limited, early-stage exploratory demonstrations.
