Digital x-ray developer Swissray International has appointed longtime imaging executive Terry Ross as CEO and completed the sale of a controlling interest in the company to money management firm Audax Group. Audax, through SWR Investments, paid $12 million for the stake, according to Swissray's form 8-K filings.
Ross will assume the CEO role from founder Ruedi Laupper, who will focus on technology and new product development in a new position as chairman emeritus and chief technology officer, according to the Elmsford, NY-based vendor. He comes to Swissray with more than 25 years of medical imaging experience, including stints as CEO of PACS developer Cemax-Icon and president of electron beam tomography manufacturer Imatron.
In other executive moves, Swissray has named former Imatron executive Robert Martin as vice president of North American sales and promoted Swissray America CEO Ueli Laupper to vice president of international sales.
