Canadian digital imaging developer DALSA of Waterloo, Ontario, has introduced XR-4, a scientific and medical digital x-ray camera for use in biomedical, specimen, mammography, and CT applications, at this week's RSNA meeting in Chicago.
XR-4 is a 16-megapixel charge-coupled device (CCD) camera with three fields-of-view available: 7.5 x 7.5 cm, 7.5 x 15 cm, and 15 x 15 cm. The device can operate at 10 frames per second using DALSA technology. XR-4 is easily integrated into radiography systems because of its standard gigabit Ethernet output interface and no requirement for a frame grabber, and its automatic exposure control reduces patient dosage, according to DALSA.
