Digital radiography (DR) vendor Swissray International of Elizabeth, NJ, launched a new DR system, ddRCompact, at the RSNA meeting in Chicago last week.
The new system incorporates a solid-state digital detector and what the company calls micro-lens technology that's designed to deliver high spatial resolution with low radiation dose. It also uses an antiblooming technology, and has an active detector area of more than 17 inches.
ddRCompact can conduct all DR applications on recumbent, standing, and sitting patients, including off-detector and off-center applications, the company said. Swissray's eXpert control desk automates different aspects of radiography procedures, and processing parameters can be chosen via a touch-screen interface. The system also comes with Swissray's autostitching feature, which combines up to four images for applications like long-bone imaging.
