French x-ray component supplier Thales Electron Devices launched several new digital radiography (DR) detectors from its Trixell DR division at last week's RSNA meeting in Chicago.
Pixium Portable 3543 is a light, compact 14 x 17-inch flat-panel detector that supports WiFi wireless transmission of images. The detector also slots into a docking station that connects the system and also recharges the detector's battery.
The detector is designed for use in all types of x-ray exams, especially in environments with special requirements, including operating rooms, intensive care units, emergency rooms, and immobilized patients, according to the company.
A second new introduction, Pixium RF 4343, is designed for radiography/fluoroscopy tables as a replacement for conventional film and computed radiography. It features a 17 x 17-inch detector that's capable of generating very-high-quality images in real-time, the company said.
Pixium RF 4343 features a radiography mode with image acquisition in one second, a dynamic low-dose mode for patient positioning prior to an exam, and a fluoroscopy mode of up to 30 frames per second for gastroenterological, gastrointestinal, urological, and similar exams.
Both detectors use the Trixell cesium iodide-based flat-panel technology.
