Del sales jump in Q3

Del Global Technologies has reported strong sales in its fiscal 2007 third quarter, due primarily to higher sales from its Del Medical Systems Group division.

For the period (end-April 28), consolidated net sales increased 30.4% to $27.1 million from $20.8 million in the same quarter last year. Net sales for the Medical Systems Group rose 31.4% to $23.2 million from $17.6 million in the same period a year ago. The company also reported net income of $1.1 million, compared to a net loss of $0.1 million in the third quarter of 2006.

The rise was due in part to increased international sales, stronger-than-expected dental systems sales, and increased sales of higher-priced digital products, according to the Franklin Park, IL-based company.
