Siemens Healthcare of Erlangen, Germany, has installed five Acuson S2000 2.0 ultrasound systems at Royal Bolton Hospital in Bolton, U.K.
The systems replace older equipment as part of a multivendor, 15-year managed equipment service agreement with Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust that commenced last summer.
The ultrasound equipment was installed in the gynecology, obstetrics, and radiology departments of the hospital. It is being used with Siemens' syngo Auto OB software, which provides automated fetal biometric measurements without the need for manual calculations.
As part of the managed equipment service agreement, Royal Bolton Hospital also received three Ysio wi-D digital radiography systems. Three mobile x-ray systems and one fluoroscopy suite will also be upgraded or replaced by midsummer, Siemens said, and an existing MRI system will undergo a Siemens Tim (total imaging matrix) upgrade to extend its lifespan and improve service delivery.
