Agfa HealthCare has launched a new family of entry-level computed radiography (CR) devices at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna.
The line includes CR 30-X, a high-volume desktop digitizer that supports a range of general radiology applications, including full leg/full spine. It also includes CR 30-x, a low-volume desktop digitizer supporting the same range of radiology exams, and CR 30-Xm, a high-volume desktop digitizer that can be used for both mammography and general radiology. Each of the systems is supported by Agfa's Musica2 image processing software.
At the meeting, the company is also highlighting its work-in-progress DX-D 800 digital x-ray room, which combines fluoroscopy, radiography, and direct exposures and is fitted with a portable and removable flat-panel detector. The system provides a broad range of radiology exams, including full leg/full spine with automatic image stitching. It also includes remote-controlled table positioning programmed in each anatomic protocol, Agfa said.
Other new digital radiography (DR) offerings on display in Vienna include DX-D 600, a ceiling-mounted direct digital x-ray room; DX-D 400, a scalable, floor-mounted unit; and DX-D 30, a portable cassette-sized wireless detector.
Finally, Agfa has debuted a self-service hospital check-in tool at ECR. The work-in-progress (for Europe) Impax Kiosk allows patients to identify themselves, check in, and sign documents electronically without going through the traditional hospital administration desks. Already launched in the U.S., it is now being introduced in Europe, Agfa said.
