r4 Vascular has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Vector percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) balloon catheters.
The Vector balloon catheters are available in 28 sizes, the company said. They are rated for up to 30 atmospheres of pressure and are radiopaque when deflated or inflated.
The catheters also include radiopaque stripes on the balloon to eliminate the need for viscous contrast media when performing a fluoroscopy exam. They also incorporate shaft technology that facilitates catheter tracking and handling, according to r4 Vascular.
