Agfa HealthCare is now selling its DX-D Retrofit with Musica2, a detector that upgrades x-ray equipment to digital radiography (DR), in North America.
The retrofit system offers an economical conversion to DR from analog film or computed radiography systems, according to the company. It is designed to connect directly to an x-ray unit's console and offers the options of wireless or tethered detectors. Wireless panels may be shared with other fixed or mobile Agfa DR equipment.
The 34 x 53-cm detector is cassette-sized and fits most standard buckys. It uses Agfa's NX workstation and offers fast image previews and low cycle times, according to the company. The system is designed for connectivity with a facility's RIS, PACS, and hospital information system.
DX-D Retrofit made its debut in March at the 2012 European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna.
