Infraredx, Philips to collaborate

Coronary imaging developer Infraredx and Royal Philips Electronics, parent company of Philips Healthcare, have signed a joint development and collaboration agreement that will integrate Infraredx's true vessel characterization (TVC) imaging system with Philips' Allura Xper catheterization lab imaging systems.

The joint product development deal will provide physicians with tableside control of the TVC system from within the sterile cath lab environment using Allura's table-mounted Xper module, according to Infraredx and Royal Philips. The TVC composite image can be viewed on Philips' cath lab monitors, allowing physicians to view the chemogram and intravascular ultrasound images alongside the coronary angiogram, the two companies said.
