Poster offers overview of dual-energy subtraction DR

LL-CHE2366 | Lakeside Learning Center
In this poster, a team from the University of Washington will provide an overview of dual-energy subtraction, a relatively new digital radiography (DR) technique.

In dual-energy subtraction, low- and high-energy images are acquired with a DR system, and postprocessing produces images that highlight either bone or soft tissue. The presenters will explain both single- and dual-exposure techniques, as well as limitations such as decreased signal-to-noise ratio and data misregistration.

The poster will also cover the clinical indications for dual-energy imaging, and it will compare it with conventional radiography in areas such as calcifications, pulmonary nodules, airways, osseous structures, and foreign bodies.
