Orthopedic digital imaging firm EOS Imaging has won a contract with the Shriners Hospitals for Children network in Philadelphia.
This is the fourth EOS imaging system installed within the Shriners Hospitals for Children system, a group of hospitals focused on treating children with spinal cord injuries, burns, cleft lip and palate, and other conditions.
The EOS system provides full-body images of patients in a natural standing or seated position in both 2D and 3D. It also delivers a radiation dose that has been measured to be nine times lower than that of computed radiography and 20 times lower than basic CT scans, the company said.
