Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems announced that its Imaging Components business is launching new products at RSNA 2015.
New to the market are a Cardinal CT tube, a line from Varian's Claymount brand, computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) software from MeVis, as well as a broad line of x-ray tubes and flat-panel image detectors for digital radiography.
The new Cardinal CT tube is being designed into new CT equipment and is a direct replacement for the Stargate/CTR-2150 tube. The Cardinal has high heat capacity and throughput, according to the firm.
Claymount high-voltage cables and connectors offer high-voltage interconnect systems for medical x-ray applications.
At RSNA 2015, MeVis will feature an Online Academy Demo highlighting new lung screening software featuring one-click segmentation of pulmonary nodules, automatic integration of prior findings, an integrated CAD system, support for patient management, and state-of-the-art reporting according to current Lung-RADS guidelines. Based on radiological case collections, the MeVis Online Academy provides customized training in lung cancer screening and workflow.
Also on display at RSNA is the LEO radiographic housing designed for 3-inch rotating anode inserts that allows customers to take advantage of high heat load, high throughput, and quiet operation.
