Burdette gets grant to study ultrasound liver tumor ablation

Burdette Medical Systems has been awarded a research grant from the National Cancer Institute to study high-power interstitial ultrasound liver tumor ablation. The grant was given to the Champaign, IL-based firm in collaboration with the University of California, San Francisco.

Burdette will use the money to develop and evaluate high-power interstitial ultrasound applicator technology and support systems for the treatment of liver cancer using thermal ablation, according to the vendor.
