Interventional technology firms Boston Scientific and Endotex Interventional Systems have signed a series of agreements to collaborate in the area of carotid stenting. Boston Scientific of Natick, MA, will make an equity investment in Endotex and will hold an exclusive option to acquire the Cupertino, CA-based company.
The two vendors will also collaborate in the near term on clinical trials to combine Endotex's NexStent self-expanding carotid stent with Boston Scientific's Filterwire embolic protection device. Boston Scientific will also serve as the primary distributor for Endotex in international markets. Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
