Interventional device developer Boston Scientific has launched Galaxy, a new intravascular ultrasound system. Galaxy enables the integration of high-resolution cross-sectional and longitudinal ultrasound images with x-ray images, according to the Natick, MA-based firm.
With Galaxy, cross-sectional, longitudinal, and x-ray images are simultaneously displayed on a single monitor. Galaxy also provides digital ultrasound recording capability, according to Boston Scientific. Available now in the U.S. and Canada, Galaxy is scheduled for release in Europe and Japan next year.
