Medtronic has received Food and Drug Administration clearance for its Bridge SE biliary self-expanding stent delivery system. Bridge SE is designed to maintain bile flow in ducts restricted or blocked by malignant tumors, according to the Minneapolis-based firm.
The system features a delivery mechanism with a push-button handle that can be manipulated with one hand, and a valve relief that minimizes friction, according to Medtronic. The company's Z2 guide catheter's soft distal segment also aids in accurate stent placement, according to the firm.
