Thoratec appoints new cardiovascular group president

Interventional firm Thoratec of Pleasanton, CA, has named Jeffrey Nelson president of its cardiovascular division. Nelson, formerly of Philips Medical Systems, will be responsible for Thoratec’s heart assist device and vascular graft businesses.
