Interventional firm Guidant reported record third-quarter revenues of $827.4 million, up 25% compared with the $661.6 million posted in the same period in 2001. For the quarter (end-September 28), the Indianapolis-based firm had net income of $175.1 million, up 43% compared with net income of $122.4 million in the third quarter of 2001.
For the year to date, Guidant reported net sales of $2.3 billion and net income of $519.4 million. The company said that it is on track to meet sales guidance for the fourth quarter of $815 to $845 million.
