Interventional technology developer AngioDynamics has received a favorable ruling in its patent lawsuit with Diomed.
A U.S. District Court judge yesterday issued a memorandum and order on claims construction, commonly known as the Markman ruling, that rejected Diomed's interpretation of certain claim limitations, according to the Queensbury, NY-based vendor.
The court agreed with AngioDynamics' position on certain claim limitations, and as a result, effectively reinforced AngioDynamics' position that it does not infringe Diomed's patent, AngioDynamics said.
Diomed sued AngioDynamics in January 2004, alleging patent infringement from the vendor's endovascular laser venous system for treatment of severe varicose veins.
