Thoratec books record Q1

Interventional firm Thoratec of Pleasanton, CA, reported record revenues for its fiscal 2005 first quarter.

Product sales for the quarter (end-April 2) were $50.5 million, up 18% from sales of $42.8 million in the first quarter a year ago. The firm booked net income of $3.1 million for the period, a steep increase compared with net income of $1.3 million in the first quarter of 2004.
