Medical device developer Medtronic said it has completed patient enrollment for the Vascular Talent Thoracic Stent Graft System for the Treatment of Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms (VALOR), a clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of its Talent thoracic stent graft system for the treatment of thoracic aortic diseases.
The prospective nonrandomized multicenter study has three arms and 359 patients at 40 clinical centers in the U.S., according to the Minneapolis-based firm.
The study will evaluate the Talent thoracic stent-graft system across three patient groups, including candidates for open surgical repair, those with type B thoracic aortic dissections, and those who are considered high-risk, nonsurgical candidates, Medtronic said.
