Oncology device developer RITA Medical Systems of Fremont, CA, has debuted its LifeGuard Vision safety needle.
The product is designed to be used by oncology practitioners in combination with the firm's Vortex infusion port products, as well as third-party ports, in treating patients who require repeated access to the vascular system or other selected body sites for delivering medications, nutritional supplementation, fluids, blood, blood products, and sampling of blood, the company said.
LifeGuard Vision has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, according to RITA.
