Biophan nets two patents

MRI device developer Biophan Technologies has received two U.S. patents related to safety and improving compatibility of biomedical devices with MRI.

U.S. patent 6,968,236 covers tip and ring cardiac electrodes made of a biocompatible ceramic base for pulse-delivering and sensing components. An ultrathin conductive coating of platinum, titanium, or other suitable metal could be applied to the electrodes to conduct electrical impulses into cardiac tissue.

U.S. patent 6,954,674 covers an electromagnetic interference immune tissue invasive system, designed with a housing technology that shields electromagnetic interference from a control circuit inside the housing of the device.
