Ultrasound technology developer Diagnostic Ultrasound has acquired Saturn Biomedical Systems, the Burnaby, British Columbia-based manufacturer of the GlideScope Video Laryngoscope.
The GlideScope Video Laryngoscope features an integrated camera, antifogging mechanism, and 50° to 60° viewing range, enabling visual control of the endotracheal tube in its trajectory toward the airway. The device provides an image of the larynx and vocal cords on a display monitor, further assisting proper endotracheal tube placement, according to the Bothell, WA-based Diagnostic Ultrasound.
Terms of the transaction were not released.
