Interventional firm C.R. Bard has acquired assets relating to self-expanding nitinol stent technology from PST of Gainesville, FL. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The technology includes a development-stage stent specifically designed to have the flexibility to meet the needs of tortuous and dynamic anatomy, according to the Murray Hill, NJ-based firm.
As part of the transaction, Bard said it would record an acquisition-related research and development charge of approximately $6 million in the first quarter of 2006.
