Oncology and medical device developer RITA Medical Systems of Fremont, CA, has introduced OmniPICC PI, a power-injectable peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC).
The OmniPICC PI is designed to allow clinicians to inject patients at flow rates of up to 5 mL/sec at power injection settings of 300 psi for the delivery of contrast media used during imaging and interventional procedures, the company said.
The product is available now in the U.S., and the firm is seeking CE Mark clearance for its distribution in Europe, RITA said.
