Interventional device developers Boston Scientific of Natick, MA, and Abbott Laboratories of Abbott Park, IL, reported that they have received antitrust clearance from the European Commission for their proposed acquisition of Indianapolis-based Guidant.
Boston Scientific said it expects the Guidant deal to close in the middle of April, after it receives regulatory approval from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
